Legal Costs

Most, but not all, criminal proceedings are covered by Legal Aid and Sephton Lee Wilkinson Solicitors are a contracted
practice with the Legal Services Commission.

Legal advice and representation at the Police Station is free to everyone.

Legal advice at the Magistrates' Court is means tested and some fees may be payable, with the exception of some
motoring matters where all fees are payable. If your case proceeds to Crown Court you will be means tested and
some fees may be payable.

Sephton Lee Wilkinson Solicitors will advise on the question of Legal Aid and in the event you are not
eligible, the potential cost of defending a case.
